Where to sell
for wholesale beginners to make more money
Written by Matthew Hansen
1) eBay.com
eBay has millions of visitors each day and is one of the cheapest
ways to gain exposure and traffic to your products. It’s relativity
easy to set up an account and start selling. There are various
strategies and methods to maximise profits which you should be aware
of.
2) Other Online Auctions
There are other online auction sites that will be very profitable
for you to join. A few factors will determine which is best for you
to join, depending on your location and the products you sell.
Search “online auctions” using your favorite search engine and these
will generally be the sites that gain the most traffic. For
example, trademe is a great site for people living in Australia or
New Zealand. Find your local eBay alternative and let the money
flow into your fingers.
3) Local markets or classifieds
Some products just aren’t suited for online sales, or you may just
want an additional outlet to sell your items. The newspapers often
charge hefty fees to list products in their classifieds and you may
have to answer phone calls at unpredictable times. In selling at
the local markets you will have to rent a stall and enjoy the
advantage of one on one interaction with customers. If you have a
hot item at a great price then the money with roll in. Remember not
everyone has internet access and these are two ideal methods let
those consumers enjoy your products.
4) Your own website
Selling from your own website can be very profitable if you have the
traffic. This is often the downfall of most would be
entrepreneurs. After building the site you must be marketing
strategies in place. Niche & affiliate products are ideal here and
there isn’t any competition when they are on your site (until they
leave). You also must build a reputation of excellent service and
complete safety to put the mind of the customer at ease.
Selling your product from your own website is a great idea, with a
few ifs. Create happy customers and they will come back time & time
again – this is vital!
5) Brick and mortar store
Selling at a physical address, such as a mall (also known as brick
and mortar site), will make you a lot of money if you have a great
location and hot products. The setup and running costs here can be
very expensive in comparison to online sales. Proven products &
systems are profitable when you are selling from a store. This has
the advantage of the customer being able to physically view & maybe
touch/try on the product before purchase. Also the consumer as the
added peace of mind that comes with instantly receiving the product
and having a place to go if something goes wrong. It is more
difficult to get started with brick & mortar stores, but don’t let
that stop you!
